THE STUNNING RING™
ring uses the strongest pepper spray formula available on the market
today. The formula has the industry's highest heat rating of 2 million
SHU (compared to a jalapeno pepper, which is 5000 SHU), which severely
affects the mucous membranes (eyes and respiratory systems). The ring
has 2-3 one second burst and has an effective range of 12 inches.
THE STUNNING RING™
formula can be used to deter assailants causing no permanent injury.
Pepper spray canisters are REPLACEABLE.
"It is with great pleasure and an honor to offer
my endorsement for the Stunning Ring. I have evaluated the ring and
found it to be a tool that should be a part of everyone's self defense
arsenal. The fact that it is worn like a ring makes it readily
accessible and convenient. Unlike the key chain or pocket pepper
sprays, the ring will be there when you need it. And because it looks
like a piece of fine jewelry, a potential attacker would not even
suspect that they were about to receive an effective shot of OC pepper
spray. As a former police officer with over 20 years experience, I now
teach Personal Protection at my school, Self Defense America in
Seaside, CA. I can honestly recommend The Ring to any adult that is
interested in adding some additional protection to their self defense
tool bag. My students love it and it won't be long before they will all
be wearing The Stunning Ring." Bob Ingersoll

THE STUNNING RING™
ring is designed to be worn on either hand on the 1st (index) or 2nd
finger preferably your dominant hand, with the thumb (or other hand if
necessary) accessible to operate the safety latch and depress the
trigger.
EFFECTS:
In most cases, the attacker will lose control of his faculties
immediately. The spray causes inflammation of the eye capillaries and
all other mucous membranes, resulting in immediate temporary visual
impairment, difficult breathing, coughing, choking, sneezing, severe
burning sensations to the eyes, nose, throat and skin, and nausea, with
acute symptoms and discomfort lasting for 45 minutes. There is no
permanent damage.
1. To determine size:
Wrap a piece of string or paper strip around the base of your index
finger.
2. Mark the string or paper where it overlaps to form a complete circle.
3. Measure the length of the section of string or paper where it
overlaps around the finger.
4. Compare your measurement with the chart below to determine your ring
size.

"The Stunning" ring is a great companion for anyone looking for a
personal protection device that is readily available without effort! No
hassles, No fumbling in a purse or pockets. Just take the safety off
and spray. As a martial artist and a personal protection Instructor I
understand that most assaults happen in the close quarter range and
that is where "The Stunning" will give you the time you need to either
escape or defend yourself! I use it and more importantly my wife uses
it! I highly recommend "The Stunning" for anyone interested in having
that extra edge for personal protection and personal security! George

Pepper Spray Information
Pepper
spray (also known as OC spray from "Oleoresin
Capsicum", OC gas, or capsicum spray) is a lachrymatory agent (a
chemical compound that irritates the eyes to cause tears, pain, and
even temporary blindness) that is used in riot control, crowd control
and personal self-defense, including defense against dogs. The active
ingredient in pepper spray is capsaicin, which is a chemical derived
from the fruit of plants in the Capsicum genus, including
chillis.
The
HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) method is used to measure
the amount of capsaicin within pepper sprays. Scoville Heat Unit (SHU)
testing is also used to measure the hotness of pepper spray, but this
is a subjective test which changes from person to person and does not
measure the actual chemical percentage within the product.
Pepper
spray typically comes in canisters, which are
often small enough to be carried or concealed in a pocket or purse.
Pepper spray can also be bought concealed in items such as rings.
Pepper spray is an inflammatory agent, not an irritant like Mace. It
causes immediate closing of the eyes and coughing. The length of the
effects depend on the strength of the spray but the average full effect
lasts around thirty to forty-five minutes, with mitigated effects
lasting for hours.
Date Rape Prevention Tips
Date rape is a topic that few
people are truly comfortable discussing. Below are some things you
should remember about date and acquaintance rape . . . whether you are
male or female.
Date
rape is a power trip.
Rapists
aren't always strangers.
Date
rape is about power, control, and anger--not romance and passion.
When
someone you know--a date, boyfriend, or casual friend-- forces you to
have sex, it's still rape.
Date
rape is a serious crime. It's a betrayal of trust and can leave
long-lasting emotional injuries.
Let's look at
sexual stereotyping and how men and women talk to each other.
Although
things are changing,
society still frequently encourages men to be competitive and
aggressive and teaches women to be passive and avoid confrontation.
Men
often misunderstand a woman's words and actions -- the "She said no,
but she meant yes" excuse.
Some
people still believe that
it's okay for a man to demand sex if he buys a woman dinner or gifts,
and that it's not wrong for a man to rape a woman who previously had
sex with him or other men.
As a Woman, You Can...
Talk
openly about sex, and keep talking as you get deeper into a
relationship.
Be
careful not to let alcohol or other drugs decrease your ability to take
care of yourself and make sensible decisions.
Trust
your gut feelings. If a place or the way he acts makes you nervous or
uneasy, get out.
Check
out a first date or a
blind date with friends. Insist on going to a public place like a
movie, sporting event, or restaurant. Carry money for a phone call and
taxi, or take your own car.
Don't
leave a party, concert, game, or other social occasion with someone you
just met or don't know well.
Take
a look at the men around
you and be wary of anyone who puts you down, or tries to control how
you dress or your choice of friends.
As a Man, You Can...
Ask
yourself how sexual stereotypes affect your attitudes and actions
toward women.
Accept
a woman's decision when she says "no." Don't see it as a challenge.
Avoid
clouding your judgment and understanding of what another person wants
by using alcohol and other drugs.
Realize
that forcing a woman to have sex against her will is rape, a violent
crime with serious consequences.
Never
be drawn into a gang rape -- at parties, fraternities, bars, or after
sporting events.
Seek
counseling or a support group to help you deal with feelings of
violence and aggression against women.
If Date Rape
Happens to You...
Get
help. Phone the police, a
friend, a rape crisis center, a relative. Don't isolate yourself, don't
feel guilty, and don't try to ignore it. It is a crime that should be
reported. Rape by someone you know is a violation of your body and your
trust.
Get
medical attention as soon
as possible. Do not shower, wash, douche, or change your clothes.
Valuable evidence could be destroyed.
Get
counseling to help deal with the emotional trauma caused by rape.
If It Happens to Someone You
Know...
Believe
her.
Offer
comfort and support. Go with her to the hospital, police station, or
counseling center.
Let
her know she's not to blame.
Take a Stand Against Date Rape!
Ask
your student government or
a parent group to sponsor a workshop on date rape and sexual
stereotyping for middle and high school students. Work with a hotline
or crisis center to persuade rape survivors to join the panel.
Volunteer
at a rape crisis center or hotline.
Monitor
the media for programs
or videos that reinforce sexual stereotypes. Write or call to protest.
On the other side, publicly commend the media when they highlight the
realities of date rape.
Ask
college or professional
athletes or other role models to talk to high school students about
sexual stereotyping and responsible behavior.
Ask
your church or civic group
to organize a speaker and panel discussion on the theme, "Please Listen
to Me -- How Men and Women Talk to Each Other."
83%
Of College Students Will Be Victims Of Crime. What Will The Other 17 %
Do Different?
I was sitting around
the dinner table talking to my kids when the subject of college came
up. They shared all their hopes and dreams about the college life. I
thought to myself man this a big step for kids who barely know how to
clean their own room. They have no idea about the streets outside this
community.
Since college was fast approaching for one of them. I began to think of
ways I can make a difference. Ideas started to come. I know I will tell
them what friends to make. No, they rarely listen to that advice now.
Oh I know, I will give them advice on getting good grades. No, better
not, multiple guesses did not work well for me either.
Hey, the college parties are always interesting. I will just tell them
not to go to those things no matter how much fun they seem to be. Yeah,
that will work. But wait, they maybe several hundred miles away, how do
I know if they take my advice? How do I know now? Sure they say OK.
It never dawn me to tell them how to stay safe and secure in an
environment full of ways to become a victim. The most significant
contribution you can make to your Kids College life is making sure they
finish without becoming a victim of crime.
Going to college is a slam dunk decision for most people. The average
college graduate earns 70 percent more than those who stop at a high
school diploma. Because crime on college campuses have been on the rise
within the past few years, it is crucial for students to follow certain
safety tips.
Criminals choose college students because they are seen as easy prey.
Most of them are away from home for the first time and are usually very
trusting. They want to make a good impression so they strive to please
everyone even undesirables.
You do not have to be an expert to give a student advice on the little
things that will make them safe and possibly save a life. Dormitories
and apartment complexes and housing areas surrounding college campuses
are especially vulnerable to criminal activity.
Throughout the college years, your child will have plenty of stressors
in their life, such as exams, papers, presentations, jobs, friends, and
even family. If they are like the average college student, they will
have enough on their mind without having to worry about school safety,
but unfortunately, in this day and age, staying safe on campus is an
issue that students must think about. Fortunately most crimes can be
prevented with extra precaution.
Tell your college student to only admit their visitors to the residence
halls. Your student can also aid in security by making sure outside
doors of residence halls shut securely behind them. During peak hours,
it is a good idea to double check security doors as you enter and
leave. When a door is left open, insist that your resident assistant or
security guard check for doors left ajar during the day and at night.
Students should never loan their room key to anyone under any
circumstances. Make sure your apartment or dorm room has secure locks
on doors and windows. Always lock your apartment or dorm room even if
you are going to be gone for just a few minutes. Also be sure to lock
your doors at night as well. Have the locks changed if you ever lose
the keys to your residence.
Criminals shy away from loud noise or attention so leave lights or a
radio on at your apartment so it looks like someone is always home.
Never open the door for someone you do not know. Ask anyone who gives
you a ride home to wait around until you have safely entered your
apartment or dorm building.
College is stressful enough without having an act of crime divert you
from the road to success. Have your college student learn about
security
in the surrounding area as soon as they arrive. Learn as much as you
can about the people with whom you associate. If any of them seem like
bad news report them and seek new company.
Trust your gut feeling and be careful whom you take into your
confidence, because people with whom you associate may commit crimes.
College is new adventure and you should not spoiled it by being unaware
of your surrounding and giving criminals half a chance.
