Being alerted is  the first step in crime prevention!

Like most,  homeowners and other residents security is tops in  your mind. Without question you want to protect your family and yourself.

Like yours, today’s homes offer much privacy. Privacy is a doubled edged sword. The privacy you have, may also be just the secrecy an intruder seeks. Homes designed to keep you secure and private may have places that cannot be easily monitored.

Like most of us you would like to see everything that happens on your property.

That’s not realistic, at least not with only two eyes. It would be ggreat to know who is in the those hard to monitor places, an impossible task without constantly patrolling your property. You have probably already added some security features to your home, which do indeed make it safer.

Still you wonder about that perfect hiding place along the shrubbery or that window on the far end of the house. These are places traditional security cannot monitor. You probably have also wondered about the storage shed or other detachment.

Not everything is a real threat, but it would be fantastic to know when someone or something is there.

If you have a child or a pet you also want them  to be safe around the home.

Think of the feeling you would have if you let your child roamed into the neighborhood street undetected, and they were hit by one of the many speeding vehicles.

Its always a load off your mind to know that your child is not in the path of traffic.

Imagine opening your door in the morning only to find a stray dog sitting on your step.

It sure would be nice to know it was there ahead of time. Stumbling on it accidentally, may cause it to attack. Having several sets of eyes to patrol your property is like having your own small security force.

Being alerted is the first step in crime prevention. While it is not practical to make your entire property a secure zone, you can eliminate most threats .

Voice Alert System-6 is a new annunciator system featuring wireless PIR sensors transmitters and a remote receiver/speaker base unit. Users record their own alert messages and are then notified with their own voice message when activity in a monitored area is detected. Key applications include:
Wireless Driveway Alarm
Residential and Small Business Security
Child Monitoring and Pool Safety
Home Automation

System-6 allows a maximum of six user recorded messages. Each message is specific to one zone. For instance, zone one could be for a driveway alarm -“Car coming up the driveway” while zone two could be for a sensor monitoring the back yard- “Alert! Child by the pool!” Perhaps a third sensor guards a side entrance against intruders. However, when this PIR detects movement, the base unit plays “Intruder on patio” and triggers a floodlight using one of four relays included on the base unit. System-6 can monitor all three zones simultaneously and still have three additional zones available when needed. Users can alter their messages and place the wireless sensors wherever they wish.

Voice Alert System-6 sets up in minutes and can be completely customized to fit their individual needs. The wireless PIRs feature: all weather protection, adjustable mounting and sensitivity, and can send a signal 300 feet through walls and up to 1000 feet in open space.

"Originally I had doubts about a 'wireless' product, but not anymore! My wife and I love the Voice Alert. It's so easy to setup and record our own messages. Sometimes we change them for fun, like last Halloween. Now we are notified when someone is coming up our walkway, enters our garage, or comes around the backyard. This is a great product!" -- Kent G., Portland, Oregon

You may add transmitters (VA-6000T) to cover as many areas as you want.

How to Select a Wireless Driveway Alarm

Warning

Beware of cheap wireless driveway alarms that you can find on the internet or big retail store. You can buy some as cheap as $30. Most of the time, these gadgets are not worth it. Expect to pay at least $150 for a quality system.

Installing a wireless driveway alarm system won't only help you prevent security breaches but will also give you the security of knowing your family or employees are safe. Prevention is the most important safety feature you can have and a wireless driveway alarm can help you achieve it.

Steps

1. Determine the minimum transmission distance you will need. This is the distance between the vehicle sensor and the indoor receiver. A good system will transmit the signal up to 1,000 ft in open area and about 300 ft. through walls.

2. Decide why you want it. Are you looking for a driveway monitor that will detect only vehicles? Or one that will detect cars as well as people and animals? Some sensors are designed to ignore small animals under 40 lbs.

3. Seek out possible interference. Any trees, hills or other interference between the location of the transmitter and receiver can reduce the transmission distance you will have.

4. Figure out how many sensors and receivers you need. These can be useful for multiple driveways and large houses.

5. Ask yourself the following questions: Can you make a different recording for every transmitter if you get a multiple wireless driveway alarm system? Is the sensor/transmitter waterproof? Will the sensor/transmitter work in the dark?

Tips

-Get a driveway alarm system that can be used with multiple sensors and receivers.

-The driveway alarm sensor works best when mounted 2 - 3 feet above the ground to a tree, on a building or post up to 6 feet from the driveway or area to be monitored.

-Good wireless driveway alarms have at least a 60 day return guarantee.

2 Year Old Attacked In Backyard

Gina and Todd are a young couple with a 2 year old son named Kent. Kent was is very active and loved to play in the yard. He ventures out every chance he gets. He liked to climb on things and just have fun. The couple has a pretty sizable back yard with plenty of activities to interest Kent. There were climbing bars, play horses, and many other activities in the yard.

There was one area of the yard that was off limits to Kent. This area was known to attract hornets. They were not quiet sure why it attracted hornets, but they were always in that area. Gina and Todd never really worried about it that much since they never let Kent into the yard unsupervised. Still they wondered what was causing the hornets to come to that particular spot.

One day they were cooking out on the patio. Gina, Todd and Kent were having a good time enjoying each others company. The area was fenced in, so they did not worry too much about Kent making an escape. The telephone started to ring. Gina was expecting an important call, so she ran in the house to answer it. Todd was left to finish the cooking and keep an eye on Kent.

Todd was busy trying to keep an eye on Kent and cook. The grill flamed up and Todd rushed to control the Flame. He momentarily took his eye off Kent. Kent wondered in to the area of the yard where the hornets lived. It was just for a couple of minutes but long enough. There was a swarm of hornets nesting there. Todd heard a loud cry and then silence. He immediately started looking for Kent.

He looked out into the yard and saw Kent lying on the ground kicking. Todd rushed over to Kent and immediately knew what happened. The hornets had stung Kent and by the looks of things he was allergic. They gathered him up and rushed him to the local emergency room. Kent was stung over 40 times. He was treated and eventually recovered physically, although the psychological trauma still remains.

There are places in and around every home that we do not want our kids to venture in alone. Workshops, garages, driveways just to name a few. There is usually some hazard in these places that makes them dangerous for the child. Adults have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their children, so they must find ways to alert them when a child exceeds their boundaries.

Children are injured and killed everyday in this country because of hazard in and around the home. Adults must utilize all the child protective measures at their disposal this can range from child protective caps to electronic monitoring. Certainly one thing we can do is eliminate the hazards that can be removed. For the ones that are not so easily removed we can setup boundaries for the child.

While it is our wish to know every danger our child faces, it is not practical. You must periodically conduct a survey to identify dangers and setup ways to correct those dangers. Make out a list of dangers and how to keep your child away from then. When it is no longer a danger remove it from the list.
